Sharjah Award for Public Finance Organises Introductory Seminar and Training Workshop in Kuwait​

The Sharjah Award for Public Finance, in collaboration with the Arab Administrative Development Organization of the League of Arab States, organised an introductory seminar and an accompanying training workshop hosted in the Salmiya area of the State of Kuwait, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Issam Al Rabeean, President of Kuwait’s Civil Service Commission. The event was attended by a distinguished group of experts, officials, and specialists in the field of public financial management.
The opening of the seminar was attended by Dr. Nasser Al Qahtani, Director General of the Arab Administrative Development Organization and Vice Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees; Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Central Finance Department and Secretary General of the Award; and Nasser Kashwani, Head of the Award’s Logistics Support Team, alongside a number of officials and representatives of entities concerned with public finance management, quality, and institutional excellence.
Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi emphasised the importance of ongoing efforts to promote sound financial management concepts and their pivotal role in achieving sustainable development. He noted that the Sharjah Award for Public Finance serves as a strategic platform for recognising financial innovation and encouraging excellence among institutions and individuals at both local and regional levels.
He further highlighted that the Award embodies Sharjah’s vision of enhancing institutional excellence and applying best financial and administrative practices to establish global standards that improve financial performance efficiency and stimulate innovation, thereby positively contributing to sustainable economic development across the Arab region.
The seminar featured two main sessions. The first focused on the Award’s objectives and its role in enhancing the efficiency of financial management, with emphasis on institutional and individual categories and the Award’s evaluation criteria. The second session provided an overview of registration mechanisms and participation requirements through the Award’s electronic system.
The accompanying workshop reviewed best financial practices in the public sector and explored mechanisms for improving financial performance in line with international standards.
