Inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, we at Sharjah Central Finance Department (SFD) seek to develop a financial, strategic and technical operating system and achieve high performance indicators across various departments, offices and divisions. We also seek to develop a general framework of the Emirate’s financial policy to improve government spending efficiency and financial performance, as well as a financial system that will promote financial stability and sustainability. Since its establishment, Sharjah Central Finance Department has been committed to build an innovation-based financial system that not only ensures sustainable financial growth, but also defines socioeconomic prosperity, which is in alignment with other government agencies. In addition, we aim to extend cooperation and support to areas of infrastructure development as well as improve financial and governmental services by providing necessary financial provision.
The UAE has achieved remarkable development and paradigm shift for building a robust cultural, economic and investment environment. The continued growth achieved by the Emirate in its economy, and the continued expansion of its projects, services and techniques used to streamline and facilitate stakeholders, encourage the Department to continue the trend. We are therefore motivated and inspired to use the newest technologies and tools based on creativity, leadership and innovation that will help us build a financial system capable to keep pace with those changes and address their needs efficiently in order to enable the government to achieve its goals of prosperity and well-being of people.
In line with the policy agenda of the strategic vision and government of the Emirate of Sharjah, the Service subsequently took the initiative in developing the use of modern technology and using it in the field of financial resources management. This has enhanced the capacity of the local government to use it in a smart and effective manner, and provide the best innovative technical services. This has led to a qualitative development, be it payment or remittances of entitlements categories, which the government deals with suppliers, contractors and consultants and others. In wake of the same, the Department has worked to link these facilities with other electronic systems across most government agencies to achieve distinctive performance indicators in cost, quality and strategic integration of government.
This realistic development, leadership approach is adopted by the Sharjah Central Finance Department, to carry out the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the directives of the Executive Council. Therefore, we work to develop and create a stimulating and supportive environment for serious and active contributions as well as activate mechanisms of communication and coordination with the local and international directions and strategies that will advance the Government services and support the financial trends locally and globally.
