Sharjah Finance activates 100% remote work system

In line with the directives of the Sharjah Government to activate the remote work system, Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) announced that 100% of its employees will practice “social distancing," by working from their homes. During the time, the department ensures usual functioning and fulfillment of requests from government agencies.

SFD was long preparing for the possibility of working remotely in light of the current situation that has severely impacted businesses and communities globally. The department has been constantly working on developing and implementing applications that have fetched them global recognition including the International Stevie Award, in Vienna, Austria. At the ceremony, SFD was recognised in the Gold category for its “Tahseel" smart delivery system, and for the silver category for the government financial system “Takamoul".

His Excellency Waleed Al Sayegh, Director General of the SFD said: “Although all employees are currently working remotely due to the outbreak of COVID-19, all financial transactions and procedures will be done regularly, with our system serving approximately 100 government agencies linked to a comprehensive financial system. We will continue our efforts to enhance the leadership of the government financial sector in the Emirate of Sharjah. "

Takamul provides comprehensive and integrated solutions for planning government financial resources and meets all financial requirements of the Government of Sharjah. It contains 37 financial and support programs that facilitate the handling of financial procedures within the government's financial system.

Tahseel on the other hand, is a comprehensive digital platform for the government revenue system, and provides new and innovative ways to pay transaction fees and services to the Government of Sharjah and meet the needs of the Sharjah Finance Department and its partners from government agencies.

The Sharjah Finance Department works to manage, develop and provide cash liquidity, develop a performance balance system, implement integrated and effective financial policies, build a global model in public finance, enable smart transformation, implement seven-star services, in addition to strengthening the internal control system, and enabling citizen human resources. The department is constantly working towards developing a culture of excellence, innovation and management of institutional performance, which aligns with the department's vision of “financial leadership towards globalization."
