Sharjah Finance Department joins in celebrating UAE Flag Day

The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) on Sunday morning, celebrated the UAE Flag Day by organizing a special ceremony to grace the occasion. The event was attended by employees of the department, who got together to pay their respect to the nation's flag, which reflects the strength of the UAE Federation and its great achievements.

Sheikh Rashid Al Qasimi, Director of the Budget Department at SFD, hoisted the flag during the occasion as the UAE National Anthem played in the background. The ceremony highlighted the loyalty of the diverse nation and its wise leadership and stressed on the significance of the flag in being a national symbol representing absolute loyalty towards the country.

Rima Al Shamsi, Director of the Government Communication Department at SFD said: "Each year by celebrating this momentous day, we represent the feelings of unity and loyalty, and enhance the sense of belongingness to our country. The celebration is testimony of the respect for the country's flag that binds the UAE nationals and residents alike."

Al Shamsi stated that the day is a great opportunity to reflect upon the country's great leadership, the sacrifices made by its soldiers and the efforts of its people. The UAE has fulfilled many achievements, making it a model of peace and security and a world pioneer in achieving happiness and prosperity for its people.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has endorsed the celebration of the Flag Day as an annual national event since November 2013, coinciding with the celebration of the accession of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as President of the UAE on November 3.​
