Sharjah Finance Department offers free check-ups for its employees on World Health Day
The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) participated in the World Health Day, celebrated on April 7 each year. On the occasion, the department on Sunday organised a health awareness event in cooperation with Medicare Hospital in Sharjah. The event was aimed at encouraging SFD employees to obtain comprehensive health care and to practice a healthy lifestyle.
The event, which attracted a great number of employees, included free tests for cholesterol level, blood pressure, diabetes, in addition to body biometrics such as weight and height, and free health consultations from doctors specialising in treating diseases of the skin in women. During the event, healthy light snacks were also offered for participants.
Rima Al Shamsi, director of governmental communication at SFD, said: "Our celebration of the World Health Day marks our keen interest in the health and safety of our human resources, which we consider to be among the core values of the department. We are always keen to enable them to obtain appropriate health education in the workplace, and motivate them to follow healthy habits and consume healthy food."
The World Health Day this year is celebrated worldwide under the slogan "Universal Health Coverage," chosen by the World Health Organization (WHO) to enable all people to access to health services they need without being financially strapped, including health promotion, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care.
