Sharjah Finance Department holds World Labour Day celebrations
The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) in Sharjah, held at its headquarters on Thursday morning a celebration on the occasion of Labor Day, which falls on May 1 of each year. The event was aimed at raising awareness regarding the importance of the workers' role in society.
Rima Al Shamsi, director of governmental communication at SFD, said: "Every worker has an important and vital role, in the job he or she performs, across various fields. They have fundamental contributions to the urban and service development witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah in particular and the country in general."
Al Shamsi added: "The celebration of the World Labour Day this year, coincides with the UAE's celebration of the Year of Tolerance. The World Labour Day celebrations reflect the directions of our government that focuses on taking care of workers and their environment. The celebrations also emphasises the country's keen interest in humanitarian and cultural aspects and the role it plays in this regard in the various fields".
Al Shamsi stressed the important role and efforts of the workers in the development of various construction and service fields in the country. The SFD is keenly interested to honour workers, especially SFD workers and appreciate them for the efforts they exert in the various fields.
The Labour Day celebration is at the heart of the UAE's visions and approach, reflecting the attention of the country's wise leadership it pays to workers. This is represented in the country's policies providing all means to ensure the best working environment while also providing the required support and care. These policies also contributed in spreading awareness of the important role workers play in society, emphasising the humanitarian nature of the country's policies and contributing in more appreciation for the efforts put forth by workers.
