SFD participates in the first technical meeting on scientific research

Sharjah Finance Department participates in the first technical meeting on scientific research at the University of Sharjah.

 

The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) has participated in the First Technical Meeting on Scientific Research, held at the University of Sharjah under the patronage of the University Chancellor Professor Dr Humaid Majool Al Nuaimi. The meeting, attended by over 15 institutions, including entrepreneurial businesses, police and courts, discussed “the role of scientific research in serving society and the business world". 

The SFD's participation in this technical meeting came within the framework of activating the joint Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Sharjah, to strengthen cooperation and exchange professional experiences to qualify university graduates and job seekers for specialized financial jobs. Based on the SFD's believe in the importance of scientific research and its significant role in improving commercial work in general and productivity in particular in the application of the present strategic directions based on innovation and sustainable development.

The support of scientific research is among the Department's strategic objectives 2019-2021 as part of the Emirate's direction to have scientific research as an approach and useful tool to find alternatives and solutions to the problems facing community and business institutions by involving professional academic bodies such as the University of Sharjah.

To emphasize the importance of scientific research, the Department formed a team for scientific research, to focus on enhancing the role of scientific research in work methodology in general and to encourage departments and sections to do so as a tool to find alternatives and suitable solutions to serve the Department, the beneficiaries and stakeholders.

During the meeting, held in three discussion sessions, reviewed the vital role of scientific research and participating bodies in adapting the necessary mechanisms to support joint scientific research between the University and the participating institution to resolve problems facing such investigation. They discussed developing mutual scientific research productivity financing the research supervised by the University and the participating institution and translating them into action plans and projects benefitting the Emirate and the country. This came as part of the University belief in supporting knowledge and research for boosting society and the business community.

 

Arwa Al Owais, Director of Accounts Department in Sharjah Finance Department, presented a presentation on a research challenge to develop and simplify work procedures through a real experience that was dealt with and resolved in a successful and distinguished way. She presented the SFD's expertise in empowering UAE national cadre through training and encouragement by conducting training courses before and after their appointment to appropriately qualify the national cadre for the finance and specialized jobs.
