Sharjah Finance Department organises two introductory workshops on the fifth cycle of the Excellence in Financial Performance Award

 

 

In continuation of the series of introductory workshops for the fifth cycle of the Award for Excellence in Financial Performance 2021, the Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) recently organised two new workshops at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah and the Eastern Region of the Emirate, for which candidacy continues until December 23, 2021. The winners of the award will be announced in the beginning of 2022.

 

The two workshops were presented by Nasser Kashwani, Secretary-General of the Award for Excellence in Financial Performance, Hassan Pasha, Director of the Decision Support Office at the Sharjah Finance Department, and Huda Al Yasi, Director of the Financial System Department. In attendance of the workshop were notable members of financial departments in the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, as well as other authorities and institutions of the Government of Sharjah’s Eastern Province.

 

On enhancing the level of efficiency in managing resources and preserving public money, Nasser Kashwani stressed that the award, launched in accordance with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aims to honour financially distinguished government agencies and individuals working in the government financial sector. The award is in appreciation of efforts to support the government's national plans to promote development and prosperity in the Emirate of Sharjah through implementation of various development projects for sustainable economic growth.

Huda Al Yasi indicated that the Excellence Financial Performance Award contributes to achieving the vision and strategy of the SFD, which aims to enhance the efficiency of government spending, improve the level of financial performance, and develop the financial system to achieve sustainability and stability. It also aids effective management of public debt to improve classification, credit-worthiness of the Emirate, and development of the skills and capabilities system of employees in the department, as well as developing a general framework for the fiscal policy of the Emirate to continue sustainable economic growth.

 

17 categories.

In its fifth session, the award includes 17 categories, categorised into three levels: distinguished institutional categories, distinguished projects, and distinguished individual categories. Further subcategories in the field of distinguished projects, include: expenditure rationalisation projects and financial innovation projects.

 

The individual categories include the Distinguished Financial Manager and Distinguished Supervisory Financial Department Manager (managers of financial departments in the SFD only), Distinguished Head of the Financial Department and the Head of the Supervisory Financial Department (heads of the financial departments in the SFD only), and Distinguished Budget Analyst and Accountant category. Other cateogries are Distinguished Procurement Officer, Distinguished Financial Auditor, Distinguished Overall Financial Officer, Distinguished New Finance Officer, and Distinguished Service Officer for more than 25 years.

Supporting the rational plans of the government.

The Distinguished Financial Performance Award aims to honour financially distinguished government, independent, princely, and educational entities, in addition to individuals working in the government financial sector. The award is in appreciation of their efforts to support the governments rational plans by raising the level of efficiency in managing resources and preserving public money to contribute to the implementation of various development projects for a well-developed and prosperous Emirate.
